Welcome to my world.
You're standing at an intersection on a rainy night. As you stare down into the greasy pools forming where the sidewalk meets the street you see the lights of the buildings around you, the streaks of the cars screaming by, the dark and wobbly reflections of the world around you; familiar but somehow distant and unsettling. When you stand there and watch the rain drops percus against the smokey glass you're looking into my world. A place where the hard edges between good and bad, black and white, right and wrong becomes indistinct as those of the moon on a cloudy night. Heroes can hurt you and villains tell the truth. It's a place where you look over your shoulder and never take anything for granted. So sit down, pour yourself a drink and settle in. I'll take good care of you, right up until I don't. |
